Specific Injuries Experience
Louise has been a case manager since 2019. Whilst she has a special interest in the field of brain injury and complex neurological conditions, Louise also has a wealth of experience in supporting adults who have suffered orthopaedic injury, lower limb amputation, cerebral palsy and terminal illnesses. She would be confident to take these cases in isolation from a brain injury.
Many of the individuals that Louise works with also present with a range of co-morbidities including spinal injury (fractures), cognitive impairment, challenging behaviours and chronic pain.
With vast experience of carrying out holistic assessments of individuals with life-changing injuries, Louise is highly knowledgeable at recognising, co-ordinating and managing her client’s immediate and ongoing care needs. She works closely with her clients and their family to set rehabilitation goals and plans to maximise potential and promote independence so far as possible.
Employment Profile
Louise has over 20 years’ clinical experience working within both the NHS and private sector. Immediately prior to moving into case management, she spent several years as part of a multi-disciplinary team facilitating holistic goals, therapy and care to support end of life and palliative patients and their families.
She has extensive management experience and has chaired and supervised clinical and managerial teams across many services. She was a founding member of an award-winning frailty team in South Manchester in 2014.
Louise became a case manager with Community Case Management Services Ltd in 2019. Managing catastrophically injured clients, Louise is responsible for carrying out environmental visits to identify and implement any recommendations relating to care, property suitability, equipment, seating and transport. As a case manager, Louise is well versed in facilitating the recruitment and monitoring of care support staff – both agency and directly recruited. In addition to organising multi-disciplinary care and therapy teams, Louise is adept at undertaking complex capacity assessments to assist with planning and reviewing care packages. When required, she acts as an advocate in the best interests of her client.
Louise regularly completes detailed initial needs assessments (INA), costings of equipment and therapy reports and update reports for solicitors and deputies. Working with a mix of pre- and post-settlement cases, she liaises with the wider litigation team to support her clients through the legal process.
