Specific Injuries Experience
Margot is a Case Manager for adult clients suffering mainly from severe traumatic orthopaedic injuries, lower limb amputations and spinal fractures. Many of the individuals Margot works with also have associated pain and mental health issues and some have internal injuries which require careful attention and management.
Margot works closely with the individuals to manage and co-ordinate their care, equipment, adaptations and transportation needs. Seeing clients at varying stages of their rehabilitation journey provides Margot with an understanding of an individual’s developing needs over time.
Margot has prior extensive experience of working with this client group through her work in Integrated Community NHS Services, where she carried out holistic assessments and used her wealth of knowledge to create new care packages and adjust existing care packages to suit changing needs. She also had direct and regular contact with Social Care to negotiate ongoing, longer term support.
Margot has substantial prior experience of working with clients with terminal illnesses and palliative care needs (including cancer care).
Employment Profile
Margot has significant experience of working in health and social care settings through her work in integrated community services.
She currently acts as a Senior Clinical Lead and Case Manager for a case management company. Her experience enables her to utilize and interpret clinical information from multi-disciplinary teams in order to recommend care, equipment and housing and manage the ongoing rehabilitation programme created. In her Senior Clinical Lead role, Margot provides supervision and support in all of these areas to other case managers.
Her prior work in the community involved a significant level of complex discharge management and liaison/negotiation with ongoing community services, which often requires difficult discussions to secure the right level of support.
Through her work in Australia and her current Case Management work, Margot has demonstrated that she is highly competent in producing initial needs/workplace assessments, followed by active case management, creating achievable goals and identifying suitable duties for a phased return to a client’s pre-injury duties.
Margot supplemented her undergraduate studies by working in hands-on care settings and in trauma and orthopaedic rehabilitation services. This gives Margot a unique and credible insight into the practical applications of hands-on care.
